How to get your life together.
Moving with my shift in energy, I felt compelled to write this article.
“How to get your life together.”
The frank reality is that even the best of us find ourselves stuck in a rut sometimes with no idea how to get back on track. What I want you all to know, is that we have the power to choose greatness when given a choice. I know it’s enticing to let the slump reel you in, but it’s high risk and low gain. Here, you risk your existing momentum and progress while gaining little to none because you’ve returned to your comfort zone.
Within my own methodology, I love digging deep and getting to the source or root cause of things. So, without further adieu, here’s my guide on how to start!
Check-in and mind-dump.
Using the context of this prompt, take a second to think about what’s been holding you back lately? Is it stressful work? Not having enough time? Disorganization? Take out a sheet of paper and do a mini mind dump and circle repetitive themes or patterns that appear. Usually, this is the first spot to tackle.
Create an action plan.
Now that you know what to focus on, create real actionable steps that you can do now and every day that will lighten the load and allow you to realign.
Clean your space.
It’s not new news, nonetheless, it’s just highly effective in giving you instant peace of mind. I don’t know about you, but my external world is a direct reflection of what goes on internally. So, if my internal state of being is pure chaos, similarly will my kitchen or bedroom too. It’s amazing what a clean home or space can do for you.
Find your “why”.
When we feel lost, it’s also because we’ve strayed away from our true purpose or reason for doing “the thing.” Whether it’s a big goal or yours or tackling mini errands, practice having an intention for your actions because it is a lot more sustainable than relying on pure motivation. And if you already know your ‘why’, make it a habit of reminding yourself it daily.
Breathe.
Is it really me if you haven’t heard the word breathe in an article? (lol) But in all seriousness, you’re doing amazing and all that you can do, so take a deep yummy breath and let that resistance go. Every second is a new beginning and it’s all going according to plan. You got this!
Be consistent.
Michael Jordan didn’t become the best basketball player overnight, so you shouldn’t expect to be a master tomorrow either. Which also alludes to the important part of this tip--be easy with yourself. As long as you’re doing what you ought to be doing, there’s nothing else to fuss about so celebrate your progress and push on.
Lastly, I’m rooting for each and every one of you and am so excited about your progress and evolution!
